5) Once the proper leave type is created, this feature is ready to be used relying on employee's first preference base schedule shift duration in order to deduct the appropriate number of hours from employee's allowed leave balance.

To create a default duration that is deducted from employee's allowed leave balance regardless of what employee's first preference base schedule shift duration indicates, follow the steps below.

Create a Value Set

1) Click on the Administration icon from the navigation menu, then select Value Set Definitions option in the Attributes section.

2) Press the Add New Screen_Shot_2017-04-09_at_1.05.37_AM.png button to add a value set.

3) Enter the value set’s Name and select Shift Dimension from the Type drop-down. Leave all other fields blank.

4) Press the OK button.

4) In Organizational Unit Attributes tab, press on the Add New Screen_Shot_2017-04-09_at_1.05.37_AM.png button to add an attribute to employee.

5) Enter the Organizational Unit for which the attribute will apply, set a Validity Period if necessary, and lastly in the Home Shift field (or attribute name that was created in the previous section), select the shift with the appropriate duration that will apply to the particular employee.

This configuration creates a default duration that is deducted from employee's allowed leave balance regardless of what employee's first preference base schedule shift duration indicates. Once this default duration is set (in a form of an attribute), it will override the employee's first preference base schedule shift duration.
